The NYRA announced that the stakes schedule for the 18-day fall meet will include a total of 26 stakes races. Of these races, 10 will be graded stakes that will run from Friday, November 5th through Sunday, December 5th.
The total in purses for these stakes races is $4.9 million with the Grade 1 $750,000 Cigar Mile the highlight on Saturday, December 4th.
The Cigar Mile undercard will include the $250,000 Grade 2 Remsen, offering points towards the 2022 Kentucky Derby. The $250,000 Grade 2 Demoiselle will offer points for the fillies in the Kentucky Oaks. Also on the card is the $250,000 Grade 3 Go for Wand Handicap for fillies and mares 3 and up.
Opening day for the Aqueduct fall meet is November 5th. It will be kicked off with the $150,000 Tempted for juvenile fillies and $100,000 Atlantic Beach for 2-year-olds going six furlongs on the turf. The action continues into the weekend with the $150,000 Grade 3 Turnback the Alarm Handicap, The $100,000 Stewart manor for juveniles and the $150,000 Grade 3 Nashua.
