As of today, Tuesday, August 10th, trainer Steve Asmussen has amassed 9,450 wins. His record tying win came Saturday with STELLAR TAP taking the win in Saratoga's fifth race. The winning continued throughout the weekend and early this week at Saratoga as well when WICKED HALO with Jose Ortiz aboard picked up the win in the Grade 2 Adirondack Stakes.

Asmussen's Ellis Park team continued to add to the trainer's record with two allowance wins with ALTA'S AWARD in the first race and ALLEGE in the fourth.

STREET VOSS won his maiden at Louisiana Downs for the trainer as well, rounding out the week.

Growing up in a racing family, Asmussen has developed into one of the top trainers in the country over the past thirty years. In 2021, he has a 20% win rate with over $18 million in earnings.

The only next record to break would be the World's Winningest Trainer record. That record is currently held by Juan Suarez Villarroel of Peru. He currently has 400 more wins than Asmussen and broke Dale Baird's record in September of 2019.
