On Friday, August 13th 2021, it was announced by Woodbine Entertainment that Tim Lawson would assume the role as Director of Thoroughbred Racing, effective immediately. Lawson was Woodbine's previous manager of racing development and stabling operations.

Lawson previously worked as assistant racing secretary for Thoroughbreds and Standardbred racing at the Canada-based track. His work at Woodbine dates back to his University days. His career in racing began in the Ontario area where he grew up, and through University, he got his first summer position at the Woodbine track doing crew work and maintenance.

Lawson is the son of Woodbine CEO Jim Lawson interned for Keeneland Sales and Racing before taking up various positions at Century Downs. He worked as racing secretary and project manager for Century Mile.
