Hong Kong Racing – Sha Tin – Sunday, October 10 – Central Time starting time is Midnight

Race 7 – All-weather

13 – Party Everyday – Draw 8

·         First start of the was an ok third at this level but slight short distance

·         Some issues in the running of the race – bumped at start and checked once

·         Has one of the best records on AW – 13 starts 3 wins 5 seconds and 1 third

·         Also, good record at the distance – 11 starts 3 wins 5 seconds 1 third look at the AW results

·         Favorite? But very low rating of 60 so I don't think so

3 – Ultra Express – Draw 10

·         Moving up in last race of season from 60-40 to 80-60 and won

·         All races on the turf but

·         Most workouts are on the all-weather

·         No all-weather race experience

·         Top Jockey to ride – Joao Moreira with record of 3 starts 2 wins 1 second

·         First start since June but works are good

6 – Chancheng Prince – Draw 13

·         Wide draw again and tough trip first out. No cover made move up to third then crapped out at the top of the stretch.

·         Only 1-win last season from 10 starts, switch to all-weather will help?

·         Works and barrier trials on both all-weather and turf

·         Big odds but if he can improve off last, should finish in the money

·         Wide draw again, so tough spot again

Race 8 – All-Weather - Class 2 horses running for over $300,000 US dollars

4 - Silver Fig – Draw 6

·         Hasn't raced since May when he was scoped after the race and found issues

·         Only 3 runs last season with 2 wins at 1200m

·         Can win off layoff, did it last season and has done it 2 other times

·         Has 1 win at this level from 2 starts

·         Works has been on all-weather with 1:00.9 in barrier race

·         Runs late and with all the speed in this race, that's good!

·         Odds good and gets 12 pounds from top rated horse

10 – Flying Bonus – Draw 5

·         Winner last out in first start since July had problems too

·         Speed, speed and more speed, frontrunner and won by 2 ¼ lengths

·         Moves up in class from 80-60 to 105-80 with rating on 81 now

·         Gets 20 pounds from top rated horse with the appreciate allowance of 5 pounds

·         Fast time for the race of 1:08.27 and at 800m running he's fastest split of :21.88

·         Good odds? Maybe but depends on what the bettors make of his last race

2 – Red Desert – Draw 4

·         Last efforts before layoff were not good 10-6-10 needed the time away?

·         Has won off layoff before but that's 4 tries

·         Will sit behind the speed and that maybe to his advantage

·         On the all-weather 14 starts 3 wins all at 1200m

·         Record for 1200m is 9 starts 3 wins 1 second 3 thirds

·         All works on all-weather with the best being last time in barrier trial

Race 9 – Turf rated good

6 – Gluck Racer – Draw 11

·         First start back was a winner effort at Sha Tin

·         At 1200m 5 starts 3 wins 1 third

·         Should be close to the pace and move at the top of the stretch, as always there will be traffic issues but in a 14 horse field, normal. Position is important from the outside draw.

·         Second start at this class level – move from 60-40 2 races ago

·         Weight of 130 an issue? Adds 9 pounds from last race

3 – High Rise Soldier

·         Tough trip last out, made a move when they straighten out, contact with leader but didn't finish

·         Switch to top jockey – Joao Moreira – can he get more out of the horse

·         Win record is not good but likes to finish in the money

·         Lifetime record – 32 runs 3 wins 7 seconds 3 thirds

10 – Sauvestre – Draw 8

·         1st race at Sha Tin, had pace and finished one pace not going forward but not going backwards either

·         Broke well from post 1 in the race

·         Raced 4 times before coming to Hong Kong with 1 win

·         Needed race last out, without question in my mind

Race 10 – Turf rated good

2 - Master Delight – Draw 12

·         Good try last out running 3 for debut start in Hong Kong

·         Challenged 500m left and keep on running but no match for the winner

·         Yes, another one who needed a race

·         Winner in Australia and finished in top 5 in his races, completive type

·         Rating of 78, so he's done something right in the past

12 – Charge On – Draw 9

·         Didn't do much in last race except run in it. Was on the rail and even race.

·         But 2 race before, ran second at the same distance. Need a break?

·         Has won after a layoff once from 3 layoffs

·         Drop in distance to 1400m better placement?

·         5 starts at distance with 2 wins and at Sha Tin

·         In with a chance

11 – Meridian Genius – Draw 1

·         Even race last out after long layoff running fifth with some issues

·         Needed a race, works appear ok

·         In a race at this level, had the rail run and finished 3rd losing by a neck

·         Better this time? Maybe
