Today I'm going to share my picks for the Mahoning Valley card for Halloween Saturday plus a bonus $0.50c Pick 5 ticket that I put together.

Race 1

#5 PLATE IT UP is my top choice. Has good connections, is consistent in exacta with 6 of 14 lifetime races, and has one win and one second in 3 lifetime starts at this track.

#8 PRECIOUS JULES again has good connections. Not many in the race of high percentage jockey and trainer. Always gives it a valid try late.

Race 2

#3 VICTORY DIVISION seems to be best horse in race but won't provide much value. Has had one start and hopped in air to start. With a clean start he should win this race.

#6 YOU'RE MY BOY BLUE might be the speed of the race as there doesn't seem to be much in the race. Definitely would be worth a shot if you get close to the 10/1 M/L.

Race 3

# 4 BIG TRUCK finished second in first career try and I would expect even more improvement here.  Trainer does well with horses 2nd career maiden start. Looks to be the horse to beat and I would use as a single in any pick 3's or 4's.

# 7 MOBIL MEISTER showed some speed first try out and maybe he shows more and goes all the way in this one at a price of 15/1 M/L.

Race 4

#3 EL MARRO landed on the M/L favorite. Has some speed and I like the jockey. Wasn't much else I liked in this race.

#5 RIDGE WEST Going off of what I said above didn't see much else why not take a shot with this horse at 10/1 M/L. Has speed 2/4 at this distance and upside he never ran at this track, maybe he will like it.

Race 5

#1 BLINGITONAGAIN,1A FIREUPTHEJET Both have speed and do very well at this distance. Worth a shot at 8/1 M/L. Would doubt we will get that if both run.

#7 CLASSIC MO is the horse to beat. Has speed, but has never run a 5 furlong race. Has the speed to do it and has done well in 5 1/2 furlong races. Only concern is do the 1 and 1A have the advantage and are quicker having run 5 furlongs multiple times before?

Race 6

#2 MORESTRIDE won her only career start by10 lengths and has the speed to run away again.

#5 UPTOWN also won her last start by 10 lengths but is she quick enough to catch the #2?

Race 7

#5 ALEXANDIRA 3 out of 4 lifetime and looks like she will be the horse to beat and might be the biggest lock of the day which will help you pick 5 players as she will be a single on most tickets.

#6 SOMUCHSUGAR I had to put somebody down as the second choice. Has some speed and also has rallied in the past.

Race 8

#4 MO DONT NO I will go with this horse who is 20 of 45 lifetime and seems to be a very classy horse. Some speed and can close as well. 6 out of 6 in exacta at this track. 14 out of 16 in exacta at distance. Need to use this horse.

#11 MIDNITE THUNDER maybe steals this race from the outside with it's speed.  15/1 M/L is a lovely price to take a shot.

Race 9

#9 STAR MABEE I believe has the run of the race as he can stalk from the outside and sit right off the #1 and #2. She will also have to hold off the late run of the #3 horse.

#3 MOONLIT MISSION As mentioned above will be coming late in a race that sets up well for a closer to get there. Probably best and most consistent horse in the race.

Race 10

#6 WICKED WARRIOR Love the Feliciano combo. The father Benny is the trainer and Ricardo the jockey. This horse has won it's last 3 starts all by at least 8 lengths. Like him at 2/1 M/L can not understand the #10 FOREWARNED being the favorite at 8/5 M/L over the 6.

#8 I WANNA WIN is the only other horse I felt that has a good chance and the speed to possibly wire the field at a nice price of 6/1 M/L.

$0.50c PICK 5 (RACES 6-10)
$36.00 PLAY
* = Top Pick of That Race

Race 6 - #1 ,*#2 ,#5 - Logical choices with throwing in a price horse the #1 at 10/1 M/L.

Race 7 - *#5 - Only horse I felt comfortable going as a single in this sequence. This horse should win this race.

Race 8 - #1,*#4,#5,#6,#7,#11 - Open race that I took my shot to catch a price. The #11 could win this from the outside at 15-1 M/L. I took the #4 second choice at 3/1 M/L as my top choice.

Race 9 -  #3, *#9 - The #3 is a closer and should have plenty of speed in the race to run at. I like the #9 to stalk right outside of the speed.

Race 10 - *#6, #8 - I don't like the favorite #10 at 8/5. Might have some class but I don't see anything in his running style to be able to win this race. The next 2 logical choices are the #6 and #8 and I see one of them winning this race. I think the #6 is more likely but the #8 is the better price.

Best of luck on Saturday and I hope my picks helped you out in some way.
