Keeneland has just finished up a great line up of stakes racing on the undercard and the first race of the Breeders' Cup World Championships starts next with Race #6 Juvenile Turf Sprint at 5 1/2 furlongs. This is a race for 2 year olds on the turf for $1 million in purse money. The turf is listed as "Good."

While waiting for the Juvenile Turf Sprint to start, Todd Pletcher achieved his 5,000th win at Aqueduct!

$1 Million Juvenile Turf Sprint

GOLDEN PAL goes to the lead while BODENHEIMER has a rough start. In the turn, GOLDEN PAL leads, BODENHEIMER behind, COWAN runs from the outside. GOLDEN PAL takes the win by a length with COWAN for second and UBETTABELIEVEIT was third!

GOLDEN PAL is trained by Wesley Ward and ridden by Irad Ortiz, Jr. The colt is owned by Ranlo Investments, LLC (Randy Lowe). The fractions were :21.62, :44.63 and a final time of 1:02.82.

$1 Million Juvenile Turf

MUTASAABEQ was not keen on the idea of loading into the gates, nor was the Irish horse CADILLAC. At the break, OUTADORE took the early lead with GRETZY THE GREAT moving up on the outside. OUTADORE continued to lead with FIRE AT WILL in third. MUTASAABEQ was four wide going into the final turn. OUTADORE continued to lead by a length and half with GRETZY THE GREAT in second. FIRE AT WILL moved up on the outside to challenge OUTADORE. FIRE AT WILL took over the lead and ran clear for the win at 30-1 with Ricardo Santana Jr. in the irons for trainer and trainer Michael Maker. BATTLEGROUND was the only European horse to rally late and took second with OUTADORE falling back to third place. 

FIRE AT WILL is owned by Three Diamonds Farm, Kirk Wycoff. The final time 1:39.81 for the 1 mile turf race.\

$2 Million Juvenile Fillies

CRAZY BEAUTIFUL put up a big fight to get in the gates and then broke poorly. DAYOUTOFTHEOFFICE took the lead with PRINCESS NOOR and VEQUIST following. In the backstretch, DAYOUTOFTHEOFFICE continues to lead while THOUGHTFULLY drops to the back. SIMPLY RAVISHING sits fifth between horses. Coming around the far turn, PRINCESS NOOR is second and GIRL DADDY moves into third with VEQUIST in fourth. DAYOUTOFTHEOFFICE opening up a three length home heading home. VEQUIST came up the rail on the inside to challenge and stormed ahead to win with Joel Rosario upsetting the field. DAYOUTOFTHEOFFICE finished second with GIRL DADDY in third.

VEQUIST is trained by Robert Reid, Jr. and owned by Gary Barber, Wachtel Stables, and Swilcan Stable. She is a daughter of NYQUIST, who won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile. She was also second in the Frizette, which DAYOUTOFTHEOFFICE won. The final time was 1:42.30.

$1 Million Juvenile Fillies Turf

AUNT PEARL went to the lead and never looked back. MISS AMULET and MOTHER EARTH made a late rally in the stretch, but it was AUNT PEARL all the way wire to wire. The fractions :22.55 and :47.30. MOTHER EARTH had a big performance flying to second but just not fast enough to beat AUNT PEARL.

AUNT PEARL is trained by Brad Cox and owned by Michael Dubb, Madaket Stables, LLC, Peter Deutsch, Michael E. Kisber, The Elkstone Group, LLC and Bethlehem Stables, LLC.

$2 Million Juvenile

The field broke clean and fast with DREAMER'S DISEASE going to the lead with JACKIE'S WARRIOR rating in third behind CLASSIER and LIKEABLE. At the turn, JACKIE'S WARRIOR took the lead and held it to the top of the stretch when HOT ROD CHARLIE and ESSENTIAL QUALITY made their moves on the outside and overtook the leader. The final finish was ESSENTIAL QUALITY, HOT ROD CHARLIE and KEEPMEINMIND. JACKIE'S WARRIOR fell back to fourth, ending his perfect season. 

ESSENTIAL QUALITY is owned by Goldolphin, LLC and trained by BRAD COX and was ridden by Luis Saez.
