The Smart Halo Stakes is for two-year-old fillies going six furlongs. At the break, DOCS SEVEN stumbled and interfered with SWIRLING DANCER. DONNYBROOK GIRL set the pace followed by BE SNEAKY and STREET LUTE. Coming around the turn STREET LUTE took the lead with BE SNEAKY and OUT OF SORTS pressuring on the outside. STREET LUTE turned up the speed and pulled away to take the win by 2 ¾ lengths. OUT OF SORTS stayed in it for second place followed by BE SNEAKY in third. The fractions were fast at :21.69, :4.75 and a final time of 1:09.85.

The race was a big return for STREET LUTE who narrowly missed the Maryland Million Lassie in her last start at the wire. This was the second Smart Halo win for trainer Jerry Robb and the first for jockey Xavier Perez. STREET LUTE'S next target is the $100,000 Maryland Juvenile Filly Championship on December 5th.
