Laurel Park's Fall Festival of Racing featured six stakes races on the nine race card Saturday. Here's the results and replays!
$100,000 Primonetta Stakes
The Primonetta is for fillies and mares, 3-years-old and up and ran at six furlongs. NEVER ENOUGH TIME, GIGGLING, and DONTLETSWEETFOOLYA were all in the mix early with DONTLETSWEETFOOLYA pulling ahead by a neck to lead the field. The 7-2 GIGGLING sat in third ib the outside followed by the 80-1 LAST TRUE LOVE on the rail. DONTLETSWEETFOOLYA pulled away more in the backstretch with NEVER ENOUGH TIME fighting to catch up. As they came around the turn, DONTLETSWEETFOOLYA kicked on with a two length time. NEVER ENOUGH TIME trying to catch up, but DONTLETSWEETFOOLYA had more in the tank and pulled away by 5 and a half lengths to hit the wire first. NEVER ENOUGH TIME and NEEDS SUPERVISION took second and third respectively. The pace was quick with fractions of :22.39, :45.31 and a final time of 1:09.79.
DONTLETSWEETFOOLYA is a Kentucky-bred filly by STAY THIRSTY out of a CATENIUS mare. She is trained by Lacey Gaudet and owned by Five Hellions Farm. Out of seven starts, she now has four wins and 2 shows with total earnings of $142,790. The Primonetta is her first black type stakes win and she is currently on a four race winning streak.
$100,000 Concern Stakes
The Concern Stakes is run at 7 furlongs for three-year-olds and up. The field of 10 broke clean and quick with FRANCATELLI and JOHNNY RITT going to the lead to duel for the pace, followed by DREAMS UNTOLD and the 22-1 CAREY TIMES. The quarter time was :22.73. FRANCATELLI continued to lead as they came to the far turn. GOLDEN CANDY tried to get something going between horses. AIR TOKEN set four back. At the top of the stretch it was FRANCATELLI leading but AIR TOKEN came on the outside. A battle to the finish between FRANCATELLI but AIR TOKEN won it by a head at 16-1 on the outside. GOLDEN CANDY finished third. The half mile time was :45.28 and the final time was 1:22.29.
AIR TOKEN is a Maryland-bred gelding by GOLDEN LAD out of a ST AVERIL mare. He is trained by Jose Corrales and owned by Corrales Racing, LLC. Out of 12 starts, his record is 4-3-2 with lifetime earnings of $148.983. The Concern Stakes is his first stakes win after placing second in the Maryland Million.
$100k Safely Kept Stakes
The Safely Kept Stakes is for 3-year-old fillies at 7 furlongs. FLY ON ANGEL at 30-1 went straight to the front and led the field down the backstretch. Near the turn HELLO BEAUTIFUL and BOBBY'S GOLDENGIRL began to close the gap and challenge her. FLY ON ANGEL continued to lead with HELLO BEAUTIFUL trying hard to get ahead. The pair dueled coming into the top of the lane. REAGAN'S EDGE pulled away to challenge. HELLO BEAUTIFUL pulls away to take the lead and REAGAN'S EDGE gets ahead of FLY ON ANGEL as well on the outside. The final finish was HELLO BEAUTIFUL, REAGAN'S EDGE and LANDING ZONE.
HELLO BEAUTIFUL is a Maryland-bred filly by GOLDEN LAD and out of a TIZNOW mare. Out of 12 starts she is 6-2-1 with lifetime earnings of $317,110. She is trained by Brittany Russell and owned by Madaket Stables, Albert Frassetto, Mark Parkinson, K-Mac Stable and Magic City Stables. This was her fourth black-type stakes win.
$100,000 Frank Y. Whiteley Stakes
The Frank Y. Whitely Stakes is for 3-year-olds and up and is run at six furlongs. ARTHUR'S HOPE on the outside showed early speed on the outside. ZENDEN ran with him for the lead with DAY THE MUSIC DIED running a length back in third from the leaders. At the turn WHERE SHE TOLD ME TO GO came around on the outside and moved to the center of the track. LAKI made a move as well and they battled together to the wire. WHERESHETOLDMETOGO got the win by a nose with LAKI in second. BYBEE at 80-1 also got up out of the pack and managed to take third. The fractions were :21.59 and :44.42 with a final time of 1:08.59.
WHERESHETOLDMETOGO is a Maryland-bred gelding by EL PADRION out of a DOMESTIC DISPUTE mare. He is trained by Brittany Russell, giving her her second win of the day and is owned by Madaket Stables, Ten Strike Racing, Michael Kisber and Black Cloud Racing Stable. Out of 23 starts, his record is 8-5-2 with lifetime earnings of $481,291. The gelding won the Concern Stakes back in 2018 during the Laurel Park Fall Festival. This was his fifth black type stakes win.
$100,000 Thirty Eight Go Go Stakes
The Thirty Eight Go Go Stakes is for fillies and mares, 3-years-old and up running at 1 1/16 miles. The field went six deep around the first turn with AWE EMMA getting to the lead with ERES TU following. ON THE TOWN and SWEET SAMI D followed behind the leaders. AWE EMMA led through the backstretch by a neck ahead of ERES TU. ON THE TOWN AND LAS SETAS moved up to third and fourth. At the top of the stretch, ERES TU turned for home and led by two lengths. At a furlong left to go ERES TU pull ahead with LUCKY STRIDE coming up late for second and ON THE TOWN finishing third. The fractions were slightly slower than the previous races of the day with :23.83, :47.42 and a final time of 1:42.62.
ERES TU is by MALIBU MOON and out of a YES IT'S TRUE mare. She is a Kentucky-bred filly trained by Arnoaud Delacour and owned by Edwards Seltzer and Beverly Anderson, who also bred the filly. Out of 8 starts, her record is 3-1-1 with lifetime earnings of $196,227. This was her first black type win.
$100,000 Richard Small Stakes
The Richard Small Stakes is run at 1 1/16th miles and is for 3-year-olds and up. BAL HARBOUR and WAIT FOR IT go to the front with BAL HARBOUR holding the lead by a neck. The pair held the pace to the far turn with fractions of :23.14 and :46.24. HARPER'S FIRST RIDE came from far back to make a bid around the turn and at the top of the lane and passed the field down the stretch. CORDMAKER came out of the pack as well, but HARPER'S FIRST RIDE takes the win by three with CORDMAKER third and NAME CHANGER third. The final time was 1:41.92.
HARPER'S FIRST RIDE is a Maryland-bred gelding by PAYNTER and out of a TIZ WONDERFUL mare. He is trained by Claudio A. Gonzalez and owned by MCA Racing Stable. Out of 16 starts, his record is 9-2-1 with lifetime earnings of $513,055. This was his third stakes win with one of those being the Grade 3 Pimlico Special Stakes, which he won this past October.
