On a wet and sloppy day at Aqueduct, MIND CONTROL and FIRENZE FIRE scratched due to the weather.

TRUE TIMBER set off the pace between the leaders, KING GUILLERMO and MR. BUFF. At the turn, he made his move and drew off down the stretch to take the win by five and a half lengths. SNAPPER SINCLAIR finished second a neck ahead of the favorite, PERFORMER.

TRUE TIMBER was ridden by Kendrick Caramouche and is trained by Jack Sisterson. He is owned by Calumet Farm.

The Cigar Mile is the final graded stakes of the year for New York. Caramouche is a seven-time leading jockey at Parx. "I owe it all to my fans, my wife, my kids, and everybody for how they stuck with me and kept pushing me to keep fighting in the game. This means so much to me. It's the biggest win of my career, and I hope I have many more blessed ones and a safe journey throughout my career."

For TRUE TIMBER, this win served to be very reminiscent of the great CIGAR'S performance back when the race was the NYRA Mile. TRUE TIMBER broke a 0 for 19 stakes losing streak today, CIGAR was coming off a similar rough patch back in 1994. That race changed the projection of his career, it could very much do the same for TRUE TIMBER who finally got his grade 1 along with his jockey.
