Sleepy Eyes Todd the Best in the Mr Prospector

With Tyler Gaffalione aboard for the first time, he piloted SLEEPY EYES TODD to the front of the field moving from fifth to the front. WIND OF CHANGE led the way but FIRENZE FIRE passed him as he tired in the final furlong. In a two-horse duel, SLEEPY EYES TODD prevailed for the win. Grade 1 winner FIRENZE FIRE settled for second trailing by half a length. The final time was 1:21.67. 

With his victory, SLEEPY EYES TODD has set himself up as a possibility in the $3 million Pegasus World Cup (G1). Trained by Miguel Angel Silva, the gray colt has raced at 11 different tracks over two years out of his 15 starts including Remington Park, Canterbury, Charles Town, and Fonner Park. He's ran and won at 6 ½ furlongs, 1 ? miles, and 1 ½ miles. He entered the $100,000 Mr. Prospector off a win in the Lafayette Stakes at Keeneland and won the Grade 2 Charles Town Classic back in August. 

SLEEPY EYES TODD was bred by Two Hearts Farm and Kristen Goncharoff. He has 8 wins out of 15 starts and now boasts lifetime earnings of $744,825. The colt was purchased for $9,000 by Jonathan Wong at the 2016 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.
