HARPERS FIRST RIDE scored his seventh win from 11 starts this year winning the $100,000 Native Dancer Stakes at Laurel Park December 26th. Just another highlight in his outstanding season with four stakes wins including the Oct. 2nd. Pimlico Special Stakes (G3) at Pimlico.

Piloted by jockey Angel Cruz, the fall-meet leader, HARPERS FIRST RIDE settled behind the pacesetter SARATOGA JACK through the quarter mile going :24.61. Rivals CORDMAKER and HALL PASS battled side by side behind them. By the half, HARPERS FIRST RIDE was in the lead and CORDMAKER came to challenge. As they came down the stretch together, CORDMAKER was unable to hold on. FOREWARNED came in for second.

HARPERS FIRST RIDE is a Maryland-bred by PAYNTER out of the TIZ WONDERFUL mare POLYESTER. Bred by Sagamore Farm, he has a 10-2-1 record from 17 starts with earnings of $573,055.
