This jockey had the highest win % for 2020 in US/Canada with a winning percentage of 32.9%. That is the 2nd highest win percentage in one year from 2000-2020. The best in those 21 years was John Davila Jr. in 2017 with a win percentage of 34.59%. This jockey was second in 2019 with a win percentage of 29.69%. He was only behind Arnaldo Bocachica who had a wining percentage of 32%. This ranking is based off of all US/Canada jockeys with at least 500 mounts.  His career winning percentage is 20.24% which began in 2009. He has career earning s of $20,595,811. In 2020 he finished in the money, which means top 3, 66% of the time with a career percentage of in the money of 52.21%.  After providing all those stats I would tell you take a guess on who this is? I'm just going to guess you threw a lot of names out there and Edwin Gonzalez who rides at Penn National was not one of them.

The 29 year old jockey has had success at other tracks as well during his career. He once rode six winners in one day at Tampa Bay Downs on 3/10/2017. This was something he just did at Penn National on 12/29/20. That night he won the first race and then later won 5 straight races beginning in race 5. Here is race #9 at Penn on Dec 29th.

He has won 100 of his 321 career mounts at Tampa Bay Downs.  At Tampa Bay Downs Edwin has a career in the money percentage of 70%. He has won 5 graded stake races, the last one being the G3 Arlington Handicap with the horse GHOST HUNTER. It's amazing to me a jockey with this much success could be unknown. It seems to me the casual horse player might now know the name.  I understand Penn National is not a big name track but to have this much success at any track is remarkable.  Some of the stats above were provided by Gary Dougherty. Please give him a follow on Twitter at Racing Stats & Info.  Do you have any jockeys that come to mind that has had a lot of success and might not be well known or get the respect they deserve?
