Oaklawn Park has announced that the 2021 live meet will have limited spectators. The 57-day meet will start January 22nd and run through May 1st.
In accordance with the guidelines set by the Arkansas Department of Health, Oaklawn has submitted a plan to allow a limited number of spectators at the races with the following conditions:
General admission will not be initially allowed.
The grandstand entrance will be strictly for guests with racing credentials or reservations for the day. Doors open at 11 am CT.
Season box seat holders and current Oaklawn Jockey Club members may enter with weekly reservations. Detailed correspondence will be sent to these members individually.
Restaurants will be open to the public with weekly reservations.
Simulcasts will be open Wednesday-Sunday from 11 am to 8 pm with limited seating capacity and weekly reservations required.
No smoking anywhere inside the facility, including the casino.
All guests and team members are required to wear masks.
All guests and team members will be required to have their temperature checked non-invasively.
Social distancing enforced.
Guests can begin making reservations January 18th. The first weekend of races will kick off with three stakes races including the $150,000 Smarty Jones, $150,000 Pippin and $150,000 Fifth Season. The $1 Million Rebel Stakes (G2) and the $350,000 Azeri (G2) will take place March 13th and the Grade 1 Arkansas Derby will take place April 10th. The $1 Million Oaklawn Handicap (G2) and Apple Blossom Handicap (G1) will run April 17th.
