With retirements and changes in direction, the Pegasus World Cup field has been an ever evolving thing over the past couple of weeks. As of now, these are the 11 horses expected to enter the starting gates for the $3 million, invite only race.

KING GUILLERMO is now out of the race, choosing to pursue the Santa Anita Handicap instead, which has allowed INDEPENDENCE HALL the opportunity to move up the list. This leaves the current field with the following horses:

  • Knicks Go

  • Sleepy Eyes Todd

  • Code of Honor

  • True Timber

  • Jesus' Team

  • Tax

  • Math Wizard

  • Mr. Freeze

  • Independence Hall

  • Kiss Today Goodbye

  • Harpers First Ride

  • Coastal Defense

CODE OF HONOR and JACKIE'S WARRIOR have both put in good works in preparation for the race. CODE OF HONOR will likely be among the favorites and put in a four furlong work in :49.40 yesterday morning.

JACKIE'S WARRIOR put in a five furlong in 1:01.40 at Fair Grounds and is gearing up for the Oaklawn Southwest Stakes.

KNICKS GO has trainer Brad Cox feeling pretty good about his chances, especially since CHARLATAN and MUCHO GUSTO will not be running in the race.

For the Pegasus Turf, it is expected that NEXT SHARES is not expected to enter. AQUAPHOBIA and GREYES CREEK are expected to move into the list for the probable field, which includes:

  • Anothertwistafate

  • Breaking the Rules

  • Storm The Court

  • Social Paranoia

  • Say the Word

  • Pixelate

  • Colonel Liam

  • Aquaphobia

  • Greyes Creek

  • Largent

  • Cross Border

  • North Dakota

ANOTHERTWISTAFATE will be sporting blinkers after jockey Joel Rosario suggested them. He will also be aboard the horse for the Pegasus Turf Saturday. The blinkers worked in the San Gabriel, so the team is hoping the extra focus will allow him to roll to a nice victory in the Pegasus as well.
