COVID-19 disappoints race fans once again. The Breeders' Cup announced Saturday, September 12th that the World Championship races would be held without fans at Keeneland. Attendance will be restricted to the connections of race participants and essential staff.

The decision was made in conjunction with Keeneland staff, local government and health officials as well as Governor Andy Beshear. The purses will also stay at the 2019 level. The Longines Classic will offer a purse of $6 million and the Longines Turf will have a $4 mill purse. The races are still scheduled for November 6-7th. The $4 million purse increase had been planned for this year but will be postponed until 2021.

Keeneland will host the Breeders" Cup again 2022 while Del Mar is still slated to host the races in 2021. All 2020 ticket holders will be refunded.
