When we launched HORSE RACING RADAR
back on Oct 1, 2020, we did so with what we called PHASE I
. It was enough to determine if the website was going to be a hit or a flop, if people were going to take to it or forget about it before investing more time and resources on PHASE II
and PHASE III
. Well, to say that HRR has been successful is an understatement. I've owned and launched many websites in my career and none have taken off like HRR. Triple digit growth month over month, EVERY MONTH since launch. 300-500% social growth month over month. So, we've initiated PHASE II
. Some of the things in Phase II you may not have noticed like the new FREE PICKS
pages. We're now offering more free picks than ever before. Every track, every day, courtesy of our partnership with Guaranteed Tip Sheet.
We've optimized the site for faster load times. Then there's the new things that you probably have started to notice:
The introduction of LIVE CONTESTS
a couple weeks ago and this week the introduction of the MYSTERY CONTEST
. We also added live commentary during the live contests between races using our comment system, but we'll soon be changing that to a LIVE BLOG type commentary that you can LISTEN TO
during the contest to hear commentary and handicapping tips from the fine folks behind our Player's Edge
podcast. Keep an eye out for that.
This week we launched the PUBLIC PROFILE for all our users. For example, here is mine:
So, you can see that you can add your BIO, Facebook, Twitter, Favorite Horses, Favorite Tracks and also see all of the contests that the user has competed in along with their placing and how many players there were. You can also click the SEND MESSAGE button to send a private message to that user.
Curious to know if you have private messages, just check the top right corner when you're logged in:
The number next to the mail icon is the number of messages you have. It will be GREEN if ZERO. It will be FLASHING RED if you have unread messages. This is also a good time to point out your ACCOUNT SETTINGS link as that is where you will find the next page:
So, you can change all of your settings, fill out your profile, view your own public profile and if you keep scrolling you'll see how you did in the last 5 contests that you participated in.
Lastly, if you're wondering where you'll find the links for other people's profiles, they are spread out but one place is on the two leaderboards on the handicapping contests
..... and that's it for now. We still have 3 major points to PHASE II which we will be working on for the next several weeks. Please let me know if you have any questions. Otherwise I'll do another update as we roll out more new features and thank you for helping make Horse Racing Radar a success.
