While most of the racing world focused its attention on Churchill Downs this past weekend, hopefully Belmont Park was not forgotten! There were six stakes races that got off the ground, with four of them graded. Here's the recap.

The $100K Flat Out Stakes was won by MUSICAL HEART, ridden by Trevor McCarthy, trained by Rob Atras, owned by Michael Dubb and Michael J. Caruso — taking the field gate to wire.

MUSICAL HEART broke well for Trevor McCarthy and cleared the lead by three lengths going down the back stretch, setting a comfortable pace of 24.75 and 49 flat. Once the field came within striking distance, he spurted clear again, holding off the late bid by AJAWEED, who ultimately settled for second. ROCKETRY closed well to be third. The final time for the one mile and three-eighths was 2:19.35.

MUSICAL HEART paid $7.50 to win, $4.20 to place, and $2.50 to show. He is by MACLEAN'S MUSIC out of LEONESSA by LION HEART. He earns his 7th career victory, pushing his earnings to $367,005, while achieving his highest speed figure in the effort. Note that he has not failed to hit the board in all nine of his last starts.

The $100K License Fee Stakes was won by SHE'S MY TYPE, ridden by Hector Diaz Jr., trained by Christophe Clement, owned by Ghislaine Head — in a clear-cut score.

SHE'S MY TYPE broke well for Hector Diaz Jr. and took a tracking trip mid pack. She advanced through the rail as they neared the turn, then angled to the outside for her run, proceeding to motor home for the win. She helf off the late charge by ROBIN SPARKLES, who settled for second. CARAVEL finished third. The final time for the six furlongs on turf was 1:08.34.

SHE'S MY TYPE paid $9.50 to win, $4.10 to place, and $2.80 to show. She is by DUNKERQUE out of THEORICIENNE by KENDOR. She improves her record to 4 wins, 1 second, and 1 third in 8 total starts, and pushes her earnings to $225,080.

The $200K Westchester Stakes (G3) was won by DR. POST, ridden by Manuel Franco, trained by Todd Pletcher, owned by St. Elias Stable — in hard-fought score, wearing down his foes in deep stretch.

DR. POST was away well for Manuel Franco, racing in second through backside, just a length off of the pacesetter MR. BUFF. DR. POST had to be asked early, but chased the leader into the stretch, then wore him down to win by two lengths. WICKED TRICK found his best stride late and got up for second. It was a neck back to MR. BUFF in third. The final time for the one mile on dirt was 1:35.14.

DR. POST paid $4.80 to win, $3.30 to place, and $2.20 to show. He is by QUALITY ROAD out of MARY DELANEY by HENNESSY. He is victorious in his four-year-old debut, improving his record to 3 wins, 1 second, and 1 third in 7 total starts. He pushes his earnings to $480, 635, while achieving his fastest speed figure to date.

The $200K Fort Marcy Stakes (G2) was won by TRIBHUVAN, ridden by Eric Cancel, trained by Chad Brown, owned by Michael Dubb, Madaket Stables LLC, Wonder Stables and Michael J. Caruso — in a wire to wire score.

TRIBHUVAN broke well for Eric Cancel and cleared the lead by seven lengths racing through the backstretch, setting a moderate tempo given the large margin he was permitted. As the field caught up to the leader, Eric Cancel pushed the button and fully extended his horse, and TRIBHUVAN responded with a great turn of foot, kicking home nicely and winning by a length and a half. CITY MAN finished second. Even-money favored ROCKEMPEROR chased on but could only manage to get third. The final time for the one mile and one-eighths was 1:46.11.

TRIBHUVAN paid $22.40 to win, $8.40 to place, and $3.50 to show. He is by TORNADO out of MAHENDRA by NEXT DESERT. He earned his second consecutive victory, pushing his earnings to $221,154, while achieving a new top speed figure for the effort. This is somewhat of a redemption win for TRIBHUVAN, having ran in last year's Fort Marcy Stakes, only to be pulled up and unable to finish the race because the reins broke.

The $200K Sheepshead Bay Stakes (G2) was won by MAGIC ATTITUDE, ridden by Trevor McCarthy, trained by Arnaud Delacour, owned by Lael Stables — with a powerful, come-from-behind rally.

MAGIC ATTITUDE broke well for Trevor McCarthy but was positioned at the back of the pack, about seven lengths off the leader. It was a pedestrian tempo of 25.27 and 51.03 for opening quarters. As the field bunched up at the turn, Trevor McCarthy finally says "go" with MAGIC ATTITUDE, and they swing to the outside for their run, charging past the leaders with good energy and securing the win. MUTAMAKINA stayed on for second, ALWAYS SHOPPING ran third. The final time for the one mile and three-eighths on the turf was 2:14.32.

MAGIC ATTITUDE paid $11.00 to win, $5.50 to place, and $3.30 to show. She is by GALILEO out of MARGOT DID by EXCEED AND EXCEL. She earns her second U.S. victory in 4 U.S. starts, while pushing her earnings to $416,402.

The $200K Ruffian Stakes (G2) was won by VAULT, ridden by Joel Rosario, trained by Brad Cox, owned by Kueber Racing LLC, Barlar LLC, Madaket Stables LLC and Little Red Feather Racing — in a profesional score, dashing through a gap and sustaining her kick through the stretch.

VAULT broke awkwardly and was positioned at the back of the pack by Joel Rosario, racing about six lengths off the pacesetters. She got into a rhythm and was traveling nicely, still in hand, as they approach the turn for home. When the front runners got carried wide, Joel Rosario found a gap to shoot through. VAULT split horses and blasted through nicely and charged home for the win. WATER WHITE settled for the second, OUR SUPER FREAK ran third. The final time for the one mile on dirt was 1:35.81.

VAULT paid $8.80 to win, $5.00 to place, and $3.30 to show. She is by JUMP START out of DI'S DELIGHT by FRENCH DEPUTY. She's won two consecutive races, with this being her first graded score. Her earnings now exceed $419,410.
