Be sure to tune in tomorrow, Wednesday May 19th at Indiana Grand Race Course to watch our Radar Horse: HUNGARIAN PRINCESS.
She runs on Race 7 in the $75K Swifty Sired Fillies Stakes, a five and a half furlong sprint on dirt for three-year-old fillies. Post Time is 5:31 PM ET.
HUNGARIAN PRINCESS is the 3-5 morning-line favorite and will break from the ninth-slot for trainer Kim Hammond and owner Swifty Farms Inc. She'll be ridden by regular rider Samuel E. Bermudez, who has been aboard in all six of her lifetime starts.
HUNGARIAN PRINCESS is a Horse for the Course with 50% wins in 6 starts, plus 2 seconds.
She is the daughter of PATAKY KID out of HELP THE CHILDREN by STORMY ATLANTIC.
The last time we saw her was finishing second in an Allowance race going six furlongs. She pressed the pace, but could not get to the eventual winner. To HUNGARIAN PRINCESS's credit, she still earned her highest speed figure to date. Perhaps it was a much needed race because she was coming from a five-month layoff.
Tomorrow will be HUNGARIAN PRINCESS's second start of the year and we can expect her to be much sharper this time. This isn't a new assignment for her; she broke her maiden over this exact same trip by seven lengths.
In preparation for tomorrow's race, she fired a 5F bullet work, going 1:00.2 as the fastest of 37 works at that distance. The teamwork of jockey Samuel E. Bermudez and trainer Kim Hammond produced a win rate close to 20% approaching this race.
