It was a full day of racing at Monmouth Park withe highight being the $150,000 Nownownow Stakes. Veteran rider Jose Ferrer won on the 6-1 shot IT CAN BE DONE trained by Gregg Sacco. They went to the lead, slowed the fractions and took the route for the win by a 2 1/2 length victory over MISCHEVIOUS DREAM. The race was a one mile turf feature for two year olds. The gelding's last start was a Maiden Special Weight on September 20th, which he won by 4 1/2 lengths.

"Jose is a master of getting to the lead and slowing it down on the turf," said winning trainer Gregg Sacco. "He had to go a little fast the first quarter but he slowed it down the second quarter and when that happens if you have horse you have horse."

The key, Sacco says was taking off the blinkers. He wore them in his first two starts but not in his last two victories.

Jose Ferrer had quite the day as well winning five races on the 12-race card.

In the 5 1/2 furlong $75,000 Virgil "Buddy" Raines Stakes, BELGRANO took the win. The colt was coming off a win and a second. THE CRTICAL WAY was trying fir a second straight gate to wire stakes win, but BELGRANO put inthe work to take the win in the five horse field with fractions of :22.61 and :45.32.
