Jockey Jorge Vargas Jr. appeared to be in high spirits when he Tweeted on Social Media that he was attending his last session of Physical Therapy. We wish to congratulate him on his recovery and progress!
Vargas Jr. was the 2018 leading rider in Maryland, and was involved in a spill at Aqueduct back on March 21st, 2021. He was transported to the Jamaica hospital for X-rays, where he was found to have some pain along his back, as reported by Jimmy Riccio, per Paulick Report.
As of today, there are no entries for upcoming races for Jorge A. Vargas.
The March spill also involved jockey Dylan Davis, who suffered greater damage: a broken clavicle as reported by his agent Mike Migliore, per Paulick Report.
The good news is, Dylan Davis is back riding again. To quote his Social Media hashtag, "#DD #TheReturn", emphasizing his comeback to competing professionally once again. He's currently stationed at Monmouth park, and scored a win just two days ago, June 20th, 2021, on Race 12 in a Maiden Claiming race.
He's set to ride JAKARTA on at Parx Racing for Michael Maker on June 22nd.
Wishing the both of you gentlemen the best of luck!
