Jockey Jorge A. Vargas Jr. made a successful return to the races last Saturday at Belmont Park, with a win aboard BACK CHANNEL in the 10th race.

Vargas Jr. had been sidelined and away from competing due to an injury from a spill back in March, which you can learn more about here.

He took to Social Media to celebrate his first victory since coming back, and shared to Instagram the following post:

We thought we'd complete our update on Vargas Jr.'s "road to recovery" by officially acknowledging his first win since his return.

Vargas Jr. made his way to Parx the following Sunday, June 28th, to ride just one horse. The next day, June 28th, he had five mounts and hit the board in three of those tries.

What's next for Vargas Jr.?

If you'd like to look out for his next races, he rides at Parx tomorrow, June 30th, aboard LOVE LIFE in Race 4, then OCCHI D'ORO in Race 5.

Then he'll make the trip to Delaware Park on July 3rd for Saturday stakes action. He'll ride HYBRID ECLIPSE either in Race 5, the $75K Christiana Stakes or in Race 8, the $300K Delaware Oaks (G3); she's been entered for both. He'll also ride BORRACHO in Race 6, the $50K Alapocas Run Stakes. Afterwards, he'll head back to Parx on July 5th to ride CATCH BY VIBE in Race 2.

All in all, it's great to see a jockey back in action, particularly after being sidelined from an injury and now fully recovered. We'll be rooting for your success, Mr. Vargas Jr.!
