Calvin Borel may be moving his stack to Louisiana Downs. He finished his Spring 2021 season at Churchill Downs, but traveled to Louisiana Downs and rode his first horse on Tuesday, June 29th.

He was aboard CHANGI, the Jeane Marie Dolan trainee, who had odds of 6-1. The result was a fifth-place finish — but that's quite alright! Borel and CHANGI were unfortunately off to a slow start. They faced a $2.40-to-win favorite who won with basically a perfect trip. And it was Borel's first time riding CHANGI. Watch out for a better effort next time!

Where will Calvin Borel ride next?

It is not set in stone where his future mounts will come from.

Calvin's agent, Francisco Torress, told Horse Racing Nation that he (Calvin) is "traveling to tracks where his wife has horses, picking up mounts as they become available."

Torres also said on Tuesday that Calvin's plan is to "kind of stay by his family, whatever that might be", and "if it takes him to ride full time there in Louisiana, then so be it."

Throughout Calvin's illustrious career, he's won 16 Riding Titles across seven different tracks. Some of his more notorious victories were his Kentucky Derby wins aboard: STREET SENSE in 2007, MINE THAT BIRD in 2009, and SUPER SAVER in 2010.

Well,Calvin — wherever you go we'll follow, and keep a look out for that daring rider darting through the rail and beating the field home.
